Children’s Story on Death by Isabelah Makori

Good morning class,

My story is about DEATH.

When I was 5 years old my mother died and my grandmother gave us this story about death.

That when it’s time to die it’s a doorway that God uses to move us from this life to His presence.

We sat quietly thinking about her story. I thought that my parents were taken by God and there are looking on me and my elder brother how we miss them and the serious challenges that we experience day in day out. I asked my grandmother if God takes parents and leaves children suffering is that the right thing God is doing to children? We are all scared. I thought we’d all die. My grandmother said, do not be scared, accept God and He will take good care of you since we all afraid of the unknown, but we have to believe that when we die we go to God even though there is fear.

As we were sharing this story the food arrived and after we ate we went to sleep. As we went to sleep I left with answered questions.

1) What is the source of death and why do we die?

2) Do you like my story?

Part 2 of Joseph’s story

Joseph’s advancement

Now his brother had sold him to Egyptian  and the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master realized that Joseph was with God and the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.

So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. The made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

So it was, from  the time that he had made him overseer  of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all what he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all what he had  in Joseph’s hands  and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. And in came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and he she said,”Lie with me,” But he refused and said to his master’s wife, Look,my master does not know what he is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hands. There is no one greater in this house than I nor has he kept anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin Against God?”
So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her,to lie with her or to be with her.But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into  the house to do  his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, that she caught him by his garment, saying lie with me.But he left his garment in her hands and fled and ran outside. And so it was when she saw that he had left his garment in her hands and fled outside, that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, see he has brought in to us a Hebrew  to mock us.He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.
And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside. So she kept his garment with her until his master came home. She told him this,The Hebrews servant who you brought to us came  in to me to mock me;So it happened that as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside. So it was when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him  and the master took Joseph and put him into prison a place where the king’s prisoners were confined and he was there in the prison. But the Lord was with with Joseph and showed him mercy, and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prisoner. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hands all the prisoners who were in the prison;whatever they did there,it was his doing.
The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did,the Lord mad it prosper.

We shall share part three of this story  as soon as possible and know the end of Joseph’s journey and his brothers who sold him.Enjoy.

Sermon;Transition of Joseph

   TRANSITION OF JOSEPH  (PART1)

Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flocks with his brothers. And Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age .But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him even more. He said; please hear this dream which I dreamed. There we were binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to him, shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall indeed have dominion over us? So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. So he told it to his father and his father rebuked him and said to him; what is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you? And his brother envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind. His father sent hi m to go and look after his brothers who had gone to feed the flocks and bring back the words to him.

Joseph went after his brothers and found them in a place called Dothan. Now when they saw him a far off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. They said to one another, look this dreamer is coming, come therefore, let us kill him and cast him into some pit and we shall say, some wild beat has devoured him. We shall see what will become of his dreams. Reuben his brother said to them, let us not kill him. Shed no blood but cast him into this pit which is in the wilderness and do not lay a hand on him, his brothers stripped him his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him, then they took him and cast him into a pit. They now sat to eat. When they were eating they saw Ishmaelites coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, balms and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt. Judah said to his brothers, what profit can we get if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and his brothers listen and accepted to sell him. They pulled him out of the pit and sold him to the Ishlaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.

So they took Joseph’s tunic, killed a kid of a goat, and dipped the tunic in the blood. Then took the tunic to of many colors to their father and said. We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not? He recognized it and said it is my son’s tunic. A wild beast has devoured him; then his father tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his waist and mourned for his many days. All his family members arose to comfort him, but he refused and he said for I shall go down to the grave to my son in mourning. His father wept for him. Now Joseph has been sold to Potophar Pharaoh’s officer and captain of the guards, Because of time let me stop here, and we shall come to part (2) of this story on Sunday 19th May 2013.

  • Since Mrs. Smith had proposed that we look for a place to relocate the children. The members realized a place costing 800 dollars a month
  • Food was a major concern to the reason why children number fluctuated. Currently we have sixty children who are costly. Each of them spends  50 dollars a month amounting to 3000 dollars per month. Inclusive of medical care.

Carpentry

To have enough materials e.g. electrical valuing 2500 dollars and Timber valuing 1500 dollars

Salon: It requires modernized equipments e.g.

@10 pcs of Driers valuing 1200 Dollars

Blow dry 10 pcs 800 Dollars

Barber Machines 10 pcs 500 Dollars

Poshomill

It requires enough cereals to  certain the demand NB: There is one machine that lacks motor valuing 1000 Dollars for easier flouring.

Don’t lie.Lilian shared this story with the members.

Long time ago, there lived a boy called Andrew. He lied to everyone including his parents when he thought he would get into trouble whenever he did something wrong.
He was never punished for his mistakes because every time he lied, people would believe him and would end up free. When he was young , he would lie about small things like eating sugar and denying he did it.When he was late for school, his favorite lie was that a family member was sick so he had to help with some chores.
After some time his father got worried because he new that is his son continued lying, one day he would get into trouble and disgrace his family and the community.
His father decided to set a trap for him.He placed a cup of milk on the table and went outside the house and peeped i from a window. When Andrew got home, he was thirsty and n spotting the milk,he quickly drank it.He then rushed out,got the cat and placed it next to the now empty cup. When his father appeared and asked what was going,he said that he found the cat drinking milk from the cup. What he did not know was that his dad knew the truth.
The next day,his dad decided to set a much bigger trap which would bring his lies to stop. This time he told the whole village about it.They planned to send man into Andrew’s room at night who would pretend to be a thief.the instruction were that no one would respond when Andrew shouted for help. They would later tell him that they thought he was lying. At night the plan was carefully executed.
“Thief, thief, thief!Andrew shouted at the top of his vice.Nobody went to his rescue. When the plan was accomplished, the villagers came out and asked what was the problem.Andrew why they didn’t when he called for help. They told him that they thought he was lying as usual.
Andrew was embarrassed and he apologized to his family and fellow villagers. It was a lesson well learnt and Andrew promised he would never lie.
Is my story helpful?
Lilian.
